Dear Members and Friends of the Indo American Association of Iowa,
50 years ago, a small group of 150+ Indian Americans in Iowa came together with a dream of preserving and presenting our rich Indian Heritage and culture to Iowa. Rooted in secular democratic values, our principles have led the formation of an organization which we are now bestowed. After 50 years, I am proud to say that we have done and continue to carry out the mission every day in Iowa to display the best in our community on every stage. The community has grown significantly not only in numbers but the diversity in cultures. Iowa is now home for Indian Americans whose roots are from almost every state in India.
It is with great honor and a deep sense of responsibility that I address you as the new President of the Indo American Association of Iowa (IAAI). As I step into this role, I am inspired by the vibrant community we have built together and the remarkable contributions that each of you has made to our shared cultural, social, political, religious and professional fabric here in Iowa.
The Indo American community in Iowa is diverse, rich in tradition, and uniquely positioned to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our state. As your President, my goal is to foster an inclusive environment where every voice is heard, every cultural expression is celebrated, and every individual can thrive. Together, we will continue to create meaningful connections, advocate for the needs of our community, and build bridges with other communities across Iowa.
Our association has always been a beacon of support for our members. Whether through cultural events, social gatherings, professional development, or community service, we are here to help our members grow and succeed in all aspects of life. Moving forward, I am committed to strengthening these initiatives, while also exploring new opportunities to engage and empower our community.
This year, we will focus on enhancing our outreach programs, strengthening relationships with other organizations strategically, and increasing our efforts to mentor and guide the younger generation of Indo Americans. We have an incredible opportunity to create lasting change, and I believe that by working together, we will accomplish great things.
Small businesses are key and essential to the growth of Iowa. Indo Americans contribute significantly towards overall economic development of Iowa through small businesses in various sectors. I commit to our members that we will embark on a renewed path in promoting your businesses, establishing new markets and provide opportunities to meet potential customers.
I want to express my gratitude for believing in my leadership through various organizations serving the community in Iowa. I invite each one of you to get involved, share your ideas, and help us shape the future of the IAAI.
Thank you for your continued trust and support.
Best Regards,
Prakash Kopparapu
